Since I realized that I could be a musician I knew as well that I wanted to be a music teacher.
I started to teach very soon, requested by the school where I was still studying, and maybe this influenced my teaching philosophy. I was student among other students, and yet it is so.
I really believe that the nature of teaching is sharing things.
This was happening in 1994 and since then I gave vocal technique , jazz repertoire, scat improvisation, popular music, ensemble jazz workshops lessons to hundreds of students.
I worked as a teacher for almost my whole career in music schools in Rome (CIAC , Neuma, Ials) and since 1996 I joined Saint Louis college of Music, and today I’m also the chairman of the vocal courses.
Starting from 2015 Saint Louis school became an Higher Education in Music Studies Institution and therefore we joined Erasmus+ project.
Thanks to Erasmus project I started to travel all around Europe doing masterclasses, individual lessons and also concerts for students. I went in Metropolia institute in Helsinki, Codarts in Rotterdam, West London University, Royal Academy of Aalborg, HoGent school of Arts in Gent.
At the same time I started teaching to Erasmus students coming from everywhere also in my courses in Rome.
Very soon I will fly again to Belgium to tell the students how I wrote “Words”, my last album, and I’ll go to Kosovo in a “one week jazz summer camp”.
